Edgar Ferreira was born in Lisbon. At the age of 5, his mother started taking him to matinees at the neighbourhood cinema where his grandfather worked collecting tickets and showing people their seats with a flashlight. He never thought much of these moments. Not even when, while doing a Sculpture degree at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon, he opted for audiovisuals, or years later, when in advertising, he made commercials with the duration of short films, or even more recently, when he was invited to make a TV documentary series and decided instead to write and direct fiction.
With work marked by a conceptual tone, he had never, until now, made this connection.
Along the way, he participated in numerous festivals and received some awards.

Edgar Ferreira nasceu em Lisboa. Aos 5 anos, a sua mãe começou a levá-lo às matinés do cinema de bairro, onde trabalhava o seu avô, que recolhia os bilhetes e indicava os lugares com uma lanterna. Nunca deu importância a este momento, nem mesmo quando no curso de Escultura da Faculdade de Belas Artes de Lisboa optou por audiovisuais, ou anos mais tarde, quando em publicidade, realizou anúncios com a duração de curtas metragens, ou ainda mais recentemente, quando o convidaram para fazer séries documentais para TV e decidiu antes escrever e dirigir ficção.
Apesar do trabalho com um tom conceptual, nunca, até agora, estabeleceu esta ligação.
Pelo caminho, participou em inúmeros festivais e recebeu alguns prémios.
